Betty Lou Dapkiewicz ( née Betts Rinehart), age 98, passed away peacefully at home on March 26, 2026.

Born on March 10, 1928, in Circleville, Ohio, Betty graduated from Drexel University, where she met her beloved husband, Joseph. They shared 69 wonderful years of marriage.

Betty was an educator who taught at St. Joseph's School in Camden and St. Francis School in Barrington.

Family was at the center of Betty's life. She cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed Sunday breakfasts at the Pennsauken Country Club with friends, gardening, and lively conversations about the news with her family.

Betty is survived by her loving children: Jeanette McCarthy; Stephen Dapkiewicz (Nancy); and Diane Joyce (Michael); her brother, James Rinehart (Sandy); her cherished grandchildren: Patrick McCarthy (Amy), Meghan Davis (Greg), Patrick Joyce, Conor McCarthy, Molly Dapkiewicz (Michael), Kelly Hunter (William), Claire Dapkiewicz, Matthew McCarthy (Marty), and Sarah Joyce; and her adored great-grandchildren: Maggie, Keely, Dylan, Trey, Mac, Zoe, Aubrey, and Tessa.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen's Catholic Church 6306 Browning Road, Pennsauken NJ, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Harleigh Cemetery, 1640 Haddon Avenue, Camden.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty's memory to the Food Bank of South Jersey, 1501 John Tipton Boulevard, Pennsauken.
