On August 11, 2017, a lifelong resident of Pennsauken, NJ. He was the beloved wife of the late Frances (nee Froelich) and Rose (nee Fedalen). He was the loving father of Carol Griffith, Joyce (DJ) Price, Stephen Ackerman and Christine (Vartkas) Apkarian. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren Michael (Kristin) Griffith, Sean (Lisa) Mahoney and Alexandra (Andrew) Kushnir; 2 great grandchildren Simon and Emma Kushnir. Mr. Ackerman retired from Campbell Soup Co. and was a US Navy WWII veteran. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service Friday morning at 11:00 AM in the Alloway Funeral Home 315 E. Maple Avenue Merchantville, NJ. Interment with military honors will follow in Bethel Memorial Park. There will be a viewing Thursday evening from 7:00-9:00 PM and Friday morning from 10:00-11:00 AM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Oaklyn Baptist Church or Gideons International.
