Charles Michael Baker was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 3, 1937. He was raised in Philadelphia until his family moved to South Jersey when he was a teenager. At 17, he joined the US Navy, actively serving from June 29, 1954 to June 4,1958. He remained in the US Navy Reserves for the following four years. Later, he later joined Bell Telephone as a lineman, eventually advancing through AT&T Labs and went to engineering school. By the end of his career, he was a Design Engineer Consultant for 5 states. As a single father for many years, Charlie raised his four sons and daughter. Charlie met the love of his life, Marie Theresa Campise, on her birthday at the Saddle and the Spur, now the Library II in Voorhees. After he lost her number in his pocket for a month, she was hesitant to go out with him. Yet, they married on July 5, 1969. They spent many wonderful years together until she passed on April 23, 2017.

Charlie was an active member of the Palmyra String band from 1973 to 1979, playing the banjo and strutting with the Mummers on New Years, in Philadelphia. After suffering a stroke, he retired at age 56 in 1993. Charlie enjoyed his family, home, fishing, wood working, crossword puzzles and cooking with his wife, Marie.

In 1992, Charlie became a Pop-Pop. He was enamored with his grandchildren, spending every holiday, birthday, Sunday, and much more with them. Charlie was the Best Pop- Pop ever and a shining example of a father and man. He tended lovingly to his wife, children, grandchildren and home, as they were the heart of his life.

Charlie lived his days peacefully in his family home with his daughter and grandchildren by his side after he lost his wife. Charles passed away very peacefully on November 3 ^rd , 2021.

He was proceeded in life by his parents, Dorothy and Charles Baker, and his wife, Marie Baker. He is survived by his sister, Dorothy and Charles Baker. He is survived by his sister, Dorothy Adams, and brother, Robert Baker. Chares leaves behind his children; Charles Michael Baker and wife Irene, James Robert Baker and wife Joann Baker, Philip John McCarthy, Tammy Marie Baker, Michael Thomas Baker and his wife Linda, Joseph Steven Baker and his wife Debbie Lindley Duncan. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Raymond James Ortega, Maria Alysia Ortega, Charles David Ortega, Rene Savage, Randy Duncan and greatgrandchildren, Anthony and Aryana.

Charlie's wishes were to be cremated and interned on a beautiful white beach by the ocean with his wife, Marie.

A memorial service will be held at St. Joan of Arc Church in Marlton, New Jersey on December 27 ^th at 10:30am.
