David B. Hill, Jr. passed away peacefully at home in Cherry Hill NJ on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020. He was born at Underwood Hosp. Woodbury, NJ on June 11, 1929.

He is survived by his devoted wife Dr. Patria Garde-Hill, RN and was predeceased by his first wife, Marie S. Hill.

Also surviving him are: Two children- David III (Cynthia) of Doylestown, Pa., and his grandchildren: David IV (deceased), Coleen and Kelsey.

Deborah Ann Carl (Mark, DDS) of Alexandria, VA. and his grandchildren, Stephanie and Brian.

His stepson, James Garde (Lee) of Edinboro, Pa., and step grandchildren, R.J., Nico, and Monica Joy.

David graduated from Collingswood H.S. in 1947, where he played football and participated in drama. He attended The College of New Jersey, and the US Merchant Marine Academy in Long Island, N.Y.

He served in the National Guard and the U.S. Airforce during the Korean War.

He had business offices in Jenkintown, Pa., Wall Street, NJ, and Cherry Hill and gave motivational talks to professional groups. He also enjoyed swimming and flying.

David was a long time resident of Cherry Hill and a member of St. Thomas More Church. He took great pleasure in traveling abroad with Pat to Asia and the Philippines until two years ago.

He will be greatly missed and well-remembered for his kindness, positive outlook, and his love for singing patriotic songs.

His two favorite mottos were, "The faintest ink is better than the best memory" and "You inspect what you expect."

A private gravesite service and internment will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2020, at 11 am, at Locustwood Memorial on Route 70, Cherry Hill NJ.

On January 17, 2021, 12 pm, at St. Joan of Arc Church, Marlton, NJ, The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for the repose of David's soul by Mons. Richard LaVerghetta.
