With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Edward R. Marshall ("Ed") on June 28, 2026, at the age of 80.

Ed leaves behind the love of his life, his partner Lori Marshall (nee O'Neill); his children, Aimee Wiand (Mike) and Dan Marshall (Emily); and the two girls who completely stole his heart, his granddaughters, Layla Marshall and Reagan Wiand. Ed will also be missed by his 2 sisters, Virginia and Ruth, and 1 brother, Howard (Terry) and many nieces and nephews.

If you knew Ed, you knew you could always count on him. Whether he was taking a neighbor's trash to the curb, clearing snow after a winter storm, or caring for someone's pets while they were away, he was always there to help without ever expecting anything in return. He believed that kindness was shown through actions, and he quietly made his corner of the world a better place.

Home was where Ed was happiest. He loved spending time in his yard, especially tending to his garden, where he found peace and pride in watching things grow. He also had an incredible gift for woodworking. There never seemed to be a project he couldn't figure out or something he couldn't build with a piece of wood, a few tools, and a little determination. His hands created not only beautiful things but also countless memories for those he loved.

Of all the roles Ed held in his life, being "Grandpop" was his favorite. Layla and Reagan were the light of his life, and nothing brought him more joy than spending time with them. His love for his granddaughters was endless, and the memories they shared together will forever be treasured.

Ed also had a gift for making people laugh. His legendary Dad jokes—whether they made you laugh, groan, or roll your eyes—were always shared with a smile. His humor, warm heart, and gentle spirit made people feel welcome and loved.

Ed proudly served his country in the United States Navy for many years, carrying the values of dedication, loyalty, and service with him throughout his life.

Ed's greatest legacy is not found in the things he built, but in the lives he touched. He will be remembered as a loving partner, devoted father and grandfather, a dependable neighbor, a talented craftsman, a proud veteran, and a man whose quiet kindness spoke louder than words ever could.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the countless memories he gave us, the lessons he taught us through his example, and the love he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Thursday, July 9, 2026, beginning at 6:00 P.M. -7:30 P.M. in the Alloway Funeral Home, 315 E. Maple Avenue, Merchantville, NJ 08109.  Funeral Service will begin 7:30PM  Interment will be private
