Genara "Mary" Jimenez, age 87, of Pennsauken, NJ formerly Philadelpha, PA, on June 6, 2023 passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. Genara was born on September 28th,1935, in Penuelas, Puerto Rico.  She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Victor Jimenez.  She leaves behind 4 children, Lillian Aguilera, Betty Borrero, Carmen Jimenez, Annette Jimenez, 12 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. Genara is predeceased by her 2 sons, William Mercado and Victor Jimenez.

Genara had an extraordinary presence.  She was a loving and devoted mother who closely helped raise many of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She taught them invaluable life lessons. Her guidance was gentle, wise, and kind-hearted. She loved going to church, reading and spending quality time with her family.  During these times she would often share funny stories from her past, and she left her family with many fond memories.  Once, while in a restaurant, Genara started singing a beautiful ballad called Mar y Cielo by Los Panchos, she was received by the other restaurant patrons with an applause.  She felt it was her legacy, to bring joy, love, and laughter to every situation.  This is just a small example of her beautiful spirit and how she positively touched others.

Please join us in celebrating her legacy on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 for a Viewing 9:00AM– 10:00AM at St. Joseph's Pro-Cathedral, 2907 Federal Street, Camden, NJ 08105. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00AM.  Interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery 2556 Susquehanna Road, Roslyn, PA 19001
