George P. Herron passed away peacefully on Tuesday December 6, 2016 at the age of 75. He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Ruth Ann (nee Smith) Herron; dear father of Laura (Robert) Sheppard; brother of Leslie Werner, uncle to David Anthony Werner; cousin and friend. He was preceded in death by his beloved granddaughters Sophia, Isobel, and Evelyn Sheppard and his parents Harris and Lester Herron. He retired from US Ring Binder (formerly Loose Leaf Metals) and was a proud member of the District 9 International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers for many years. George was an active volunteer for years with the Leonor K. Sullivan 14th Ward Democrats. In retirement, he was an avid reader and often visited his librarian friends at the Middendorf-Kredell Branch of the St. Charles City-County Library. He greatly enjoyed his church family at Living Lord Lutheran Church. His great heart carried him far in this life and he will be greatly missed. His life will be celebrated with friends and family at a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be greatly appreciated to the Herron Memorial.
