Glenn E. Dawson

On Thursday January 13,2022, Glenn E. Dawson, loving husband and father of four children, passed away at age 83.

Glenn was born on September 9,1938 in Zanesville, OH to Martha Louise Downs Dawson.  He graduated from Jefferson High School in Dresden, OH and received first place in Senior Social Studies in Ohio's Final State Scholarship Test.  He received a congressional appointment to West Point USMA and graduated with a B.S., then earned a M.S. from the University of Michigan.  In 1960 he married Barbara Mix Dawson and they raised four daughters.  In 2001 he married Judith Shivers Gilbert Dawson.

Glenn was an entrepreneur and business consultant until his death.  During his long career he worked with many companies including IBM, RCA, Ziff Davis Publishing, and Auerbach Associates.  In 1971 he co-founded Alltech.  In 1982 he co-founded SRG.  His book Explosive Growth was published in 1995.  An avid reader, researcher, writer, and author, Glenn thrived in higher learning and advancing others to reach their full God-given potential.

Glenn was preceded in death by his father, Harold LaMoyne Dawson and his mother, Martha Louise Downs Dawson.  He is survived by his wife Judith, ex-wife Barbara, his four children, Lynne, Karen, Katherine Primus, Jeanne McGill, his stepson Roger, and seven Grandchildren Robert, Gabrielle, Mary, Ryan, Alexander, Christopher, and Brogan, his brother Paul and wife Donna, brother Maxx and wife Brenda, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday January 31,2022 at the Alloway Funeral Home, 315 E. Maple Avenue, Merchantville NJ 08109 at 10:00AM followed by an 11:00Am Service. Glenn's interment is scheduled at 1:00PM at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Cemetery in Arneytown, NJ.  In Lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to be made to Boys Town 14100 Crawford Street, Boys Town, NE 68010 or support.boystown.org
