James Alfred Camlin passed away surrounded by his family and close friends early Tuesday, December 8 ^th after battling lung cancer.  He leaves a legacy of love behind in his 4 surviving daughters: Jennifer Camlin, Janice (Stephen) Bockius, Rebecca Camlin, and Monica (Chris) Serra.  He was also Pe-Pop to 7 grandchildren: Tobyn, Skyler, Parker, Zander, Charles, Karlie and Mara.  James was a fierce family man and cared for his late wife Rebecca for years during her battle with dementia.  He championed his daughters and was heavily involved in all of their pursuits as young children and adults.  James served in the Marines and was honorably discharged after two years.  He was an auto mechanic and worked on cars his whole life.  He enjoyed drinking coffee at the kitchen table while he read and completed puzzles in the newspaper.  As a math enthusiast, he loved playing cards with his close friends on Friday nights.  James was extremely kind and outgoing, turning a stranger into a friend within a few minutes of conversation. James lived a good life filled with much happiness, laughter and love.  He is deeply missed by his family and those that knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Philadelphia VA Medical Center located at 3900 Woodland Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19104 in James memory.
