James J. McKernan, age 83, of Marlton, NJ passed away peacefully at home on January 17, 2018. Jim worked as a draftsman for RCA Camden and later became a senior contracts manager. He also co-founded the Mitchell-McKernan Construction Co. that did remodeling and construction in SJ neighborhoods. He was a member of Indian Springs Country Club and loved to travel. Jim and Virginia Brus McKernan raised three daughters Ginny (Van) Cooper, Lisa (Jim) Grizzle and Patricia McKernan (Chris D'Alessandro). Jim's second wife Mary Schafer McKernan died in 2008. Besides his daughters and stepchildren he is also survived by his wife Victorine Meise; grandsons Peter and Jonathan Ireland, Noble and Ian Graham; his step grandchildren; great granddaughter Morgan Elizabeth Ireland; and brother Bryan. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with his family on Monday morning from 8:30-9:30 AM in the Alloway Funeral Home 315 E. Maple Avenue Merchantville, NJ. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM in St. Peter Church Merchantville. Interment will be private.
