On September 1, 2018, age 77, of Merchantville, NJ. He was the beloved husband of Regina (nee Stewart) and father of J. David Weidner, Jeffrey Weidner and Timothy Weidner. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren Heather Lee, Dillon, Gavin, Jillian, Hannah Lynn and Nicholas and one sister Patricia Goodwin. Jim was born in Carlisle, PA and was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. He was an English teacher for over 30 years in the Northern Burlington County Regional School District. In his earlier years, Jim enjoyed outdoor photography, fishing and bowhunting and later was the captain of his vessel the "Sandy Claws", making numerous trips with Regina to the Chesapeake Bay. He was the founder and creator in 2000 of the Amateur Radio Lighthouse Society using the call sign K2JXW. Jim was an active member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Office of Emergency Management for the Borough of Merchantville. Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Friday evening from 7:00-9:00 PM and on Saturday morning at 10:00 AM in the Alloway Funeral Home 315 E. Maple Avenue Merchantville, NJ. Interment will be held in Locustwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the ASPCA - American Society For The Prevention of Cruelty To Animals.
