On December 12, 2017, age 90, of Whiting formerly of Merchantville, NJ. He was the beloved husband of Mary Elizabeth (nee Loomis) and father of Joseph, Jr. (Karen), Brian (Margot), David (Shawna), Rya (Will) Martin, Amy (James) Helliesen, Laura (Gregory) Pilato, Isabel (Rodman) Boston Sara (Bill) Cruze, and Elaine (Neal) Van Hook; 28 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and one sister Grace Roth. Mr. Prendergast owned and operated the Merchantville Conservatory of Music for many years and was a WWII US Navy veteran. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Mass on Friday December 29, 2017 at 10:45 AM in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church 30 Schoolhouse Road Manchester Twp., NJ. Interment will follow in Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery Arneytown, NJ.
