Joseph Anthony Vena IV, of Erial NJ, age 4, passed away on June 13, 2020 peacefully in his Mother's arms at Alfred I. Dupont Hospital for Children. Joseph fought a long journey of a rare genetic disease, TLR8. He was known as The Mystery Boy.

Precious Son of Joseph Vena III and Ashley Bitler. Loving Grandson of Darlene Bitler, Ildefonso (Fonzo) Gonzalez, Joseph Jr & Janice Vena. Nephew to Justin & Krista Gonzalez and Johnny Vena. Great Grandson to Margaret (Peg) Bitler and John Salvatori (Claire). Joseph was a great nephew and survived by many cousins.

Joseph spent countless overnight visits in the hospital with his last stay being ten unpredictable months. He continued to battle through life until 2019 where he was then prepared for a bone marrow transplant in hopes to treat his unknown disorder. Throughout his journey, Joseph has had the strength to overcome many challenging obstacles while still keeping a smile on his face.

Joseph loved his music, the beach, his dog Nala, ice cream, animals and riding his batman quad around Dupont Hospital. He enjoyed singing and dancing especially in his car rides with Daddy and adored shopping with Mommy (his favorite store was Shop Rite.) Joseph loved playing with his ice cream cart, instruments, fixing things with Grandpop Fonzo, playing hide & seek, and spending quality time with Mommom Darlene. He grew a passion for Spiderman and loved to cook in his kitchen. He was always dressed to impress for every occasion. He was sweet, BRAVE, funny, lovable and touched many hearts with his story. Mommy was Joseph's best friend whom he adored and loved unconditionally. Joseph's courage was unremarkable and has inspired so many people. He was everyone's Superhero.

Joseph's visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00-9:00 PM and Saturday morning from 10:00-11:30 AM in the Alloway Funeral Home 315 East Maple Avenue Merchantville, NJ. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 AM in the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery Chews Landing, NJ.
