Karen Sue Neuhardt, 71, of Tenafly, NJ, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2020.  She was born in Dayton, Ohio on March 9, 1949, to the late Jack and Betty Rutherford.  She grew up in Ohio and worked as a Technical Specialist and Instructor at Ohio Bell/Ameritech.  Upon retirement Karen and her husband built their dream home in the mountains of North Carolina, and more recently moved to New Jersey to be closer to children and grandchildren.

Karen had many interests, she enjoyed entertaining family and friends, playing Euchre, reading (she loved Harry Potter books), cooking, quilting, and gardening.  She also loved camping, traveling and exploring, watching football, and attending crew regattas.  Karen was known and respected for her strength and determination.  She was appreciated for her kindness, patience, and readiness to help those in need (including rescuing animals).

Karen was a wife to her husband Jim for thirty-seven years; a mother to Melissa and Kimberly; a second mother to Michael, Tracy, and Lori (and was a special friend to their mother, Mafre Maxwell); a grandmother to Gabrielle, Maya, Olivia, Eliza, Mia, Brook and Ben; a sister to Sharon (predeceased), Jack, and Pam; and a special aunt to many nieces and nephews.  Karen was dearly loved by her husband and all of her family and will be deeply missed.
