Kathleen Ann Linebarger, (nee Horace) 73, of Ewing, NJ, died on November 16 in Hamilton, NJ, following a prolonged illness. She was born in Drexel Hill, PA, on October 14, 1950, to John "Jack" and Elizabeth "Betty" Horace. She grew up in a loving Irish Catholic home surrounded by a large extended family. She graduated from Camden Catholic High School and spent many years working for Philadelphia Electric. In the 1990s, she managed and owned family businesses with her husband. Kathy later worked as a bookkeeper for Mercer Corporate Interiors, from which she retired.

A traveler in her youth, Kathy is remembered for her accomplishments closer to home.  She was known as an excellent cook but shined most as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and Mimi.

Kathy met her husband of 48 years, Derek, at a ski club event. It was a curious place for an introduction as Kathy had never worn a pair of skis. Eventually, Derek got Kathy to hit the slopes, but she found she much preferred the lodge. Derek and Kathy married on March 22, 1975, and had three children: Bridget, Lindsay, and Brett, who adored her. Her family grew again with the addition of her daughter-in-law, Alycia, and her long-awaited granddaughter, Mackenzie.

Kathy was known for her kindness, sincerity, and open heart. She was the first to say, "How can I help?" whenever a challenge or need arose. Most who knew her experienced her generosity firsthand through large and small acts of kindness. She was happiest when surrounded by family and spent many years hosting large gatherings that brought everyone together, always ensuring each person had their favorite dish on the menu. Kathy was an avid reader – a passion that she passed down to all three of her children. She is fondly remembered with a book in one hand and a cup of tea in the other.

She is greatly missed and forever cherished.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, sister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, and niece. She is survived by her husband, Derek Linebarger of Ewing, NJ; daughters, Bridget Linebarger and Lindsay Linebarger; son and daughter-in-law, Brett and Alycia (Grossman) Linebarger; granddaughter, Mackenzie Linebarger; sister and sister-in-law, Maureen Gray and Jacqueline Potts; brother and sister-in-law, Christopher and Kathryn Horace; brother-in-law, Brian Linebarger; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 43 W. Maple Avenue Merchantville, NJ 08109 on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 10:00 AM.  Interment will be private.
