Laura C. Abate (nee Persechino) age 74 years, of Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Friday, August 16th, 2024, in her home.

Born in Camden, New Jersey on December 15th, 1949, to her late parents, Helen (Malizia) and Fred Persechino Sr., Laura is survived by her three children; Paula of Oconomowoc, WI, Daniel (Samantha) of Catawissa, PA, Anthony of Medford, NJ, and daughter-in-law Michelle.

She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Jeremy (Miranda), Adrianna (Nicholas), Aleesa, Liam, Angela, Ryan and Nicholas, one great-grandchild; Vincent, and her siblings; Angelo, Fred Jr. (Mary) and Tom (Lois). As well as many nieces and nephews.

Laura graduated from Camden Catholic High School in 1968, where she would be found proudly wearing number 22 for the girls' basketball team.

While Laura took on many titles and jobs throughout her life, being Grandma to her grandchildren and great-grandchild was her favorite. Her happiest was when she was surrounded by her loved ones, talking, joking and eating her favorite foods and desserts.

She was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and enjoyed scrapbooking, cooking and journaling. In recent years, she would be found in her recliner with a cup of coffee and her cat, Buddy, watching Agatha Christie, Alfred Hitchcock or any old, British mysteries.

Memorial services for Laura will be held privately.
