Obituary

Lynn Forbes 1941-2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lynn Forbes, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who left this world on October 7, 2026, at the age of 84. Born in New Rochelle, NY, on December 31, 1941, Lynn was a beacon of warmth and kindness, whose legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Lynn was predeceased by her parents, Geraldine and Martin Uffner, and her dear brother, Martin Uffner. She is survived by her husband Haines Forbes, daughters, Melissa (Chris) Bennett and Heather Forbes, and her granddaughter Amaya Bennett, as well as nieces and nephews.

On February 10, 1973, Lynn married the love of her life, Haines. Together, they built a beautiful life over 53 years, raising two devoted daughters, Melissa and Heather. Lynn's family was her pride and joy, and she was the heart of their home. Her nurturing spirit touched all who knew her, and she lovingly embraced the role of "Mommie" not just to her daughters, but to everyone she met.

Lynn's love extended to her beloved granddaughter, Amaya, who affectionately called her Mee-Maw. Lynn's joy in being a grandmother was immeasurable, and she cherished every moment spent with Amaya and her grand-doggies, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

Lynn's passion for life was evident in her many hobbies and interests, particularly her love for baking. Her world-famous oatmeal chocolate chip cookies were a testament to her talent and were enjoyed by all who were fortunate enough to taste them. Lynn was also a patron of the arts and loved classical music and musical theatre.

In accordance with Lynn's wishes, no formal services will be held to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Lynn's memory to the National Parent Teacher Association Reflections Program, an organization close to her heart. Lynn spent many years as a member of the PTA, even after her children were grown, and the Reflections Program was especially important to her as it provides children with recognition and access to the arts.

Lynn's legacy is one of love, warmth, and generosity—a legacy that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and friends.
