Mable Rossi (nee Houghtlen) 86, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. She was born on November 30th, 1937, to the late Kenneth and Donna (Farley) Houghtlen.  Mable was raised in Norwalk, Ohio, then traveled and settled in NJ, where she resided for over 60 years.
She worked many various jobs, but most notable was her time spent working at Medford Outlets and EP Henry, where she would bring her grandchildren to work with her and teach them the importance of punctuality, determination, work ethic, and perseverance.

Mable was patient with her grandchildren, teaching them life skills, yard work, baking, cooking, and creating various projects with them.  She loved crossword puzzles, dancing, and her coffee and cigarettes. Every now and then she would to WaWa and treat herself to a big hoagie and some lottery tickets. Her grandchildren had full range of her home, emptying all her cabinets and rearranging them as toddlers.  Her home was always open and a safe place for her family, never turning anyone away.  Her grandchildren loved getting off the bus and going straight to her house. Mable enjoyed helping family and friends, baking, gardening, deep conversations, and watching the news. Mable also loved telling stories about growing up on the family farm and how life was in Ohio.

She is survived by her four sons, multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren, her brother, Dale (Fran) Houghtlen, by several nieces and nephews, and her close friends.

In addition to her parents, Mable was preceded in death by her former husbands, and her siblings, Kenneth Houghten Jr., Fred Houghtlen, Neva Houghtlen, Betty Houghtlen, Donna Header, Bonnie Houghtlen, Shirley Church, and Flossie Martinez.

In accordance with her wishes, a private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
