Marguerite G. DeMartino (nee Gordon) born March 31, 1928, in Philadelphia joined her family in heaven 1/29/2025. Predeceased by husband Joseph DeMartino, siblings Tom (Duke), Gordon (Laura), Chuck Gordon (Frances), Joseph Gordon (Rita), Mary Jane Higgins (Bill), and brother-in -law Bill Burk. "Aunt" Marguerite was the beautiful, successful businesswoman who many young nieces and friends admired.  She worked as a manager at Strawbridge and Clothier for decades. She was an accomplished cook who hosted the best Italian feast any Irish woman could cook.  You were lucky if you had a seat at her legendary New Year's Day 7 course meal.  She was especially known for her lasagna, a recipe shared with only one of her great nephews. (Hint: He lives in NJ!)  Also known for her award-winning dolls.  Aunt M painted the faces for porcelain dolls while her "bestie" Josephine made the clothes.  Aunt M loved to travel and went on many adventures with family and friends.  She even managed to hang upside down and kiss the famous Blarney Stone!  Aunt M was an accomplished bowler along with her husband Joe.   Aunt M will be missed by her friend and companion Anna Mary, her coffee and donut buddy Heather, Tammy and posse who brought beauty and laughter to her life, and Linda whose visits were always fun.  Also, many surviving nieces and nephews especially Tim (Judy), her favorite nephew Gerry - according to Gerry (Wendy), who all often made the long trek down so Marguerite and Regina could enjoy sister time together, adopted niece Debbie who was always there for Aunt M and Pat (Robert).

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 9:30 A. M. at Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, 724 Maple Avenue Linwood, NJ.  Plan to wear a little purple that day.  Aunt Marguerite would love that.
