Michael J. Porubsky, age 97 years, of Mount Laurel, NJ, formerly of Edison, NJ, on January 21, 2026, passed away surrounded by his family.   Michael was born in Bayonne, NJ to his late parents Peter and Margaret (nee O'Hara) Porubsky in 1928.  He attended the local schools.  During WWII he was employed by the Naval Supply Depot as a motorcycle dispatcher.  After the war he served time in the US Army.  While serving in Korea (1951-1952) he was wounded in action and received the Purple Heart Medal of Honor.  After arriving home, he married Mildred Wolff of New Brunswick.  Together they had 3 children Michael (Susan) Porubsky, Joan (Bryan) Karch and the late John Porubsky, 2 grandchildren Jon and Victoria and 1 great grandchild Alex Porubsky.  After celebrating 50 years of marriage his wife Mildred passed away. He later remarried and moved to Mount Laurel, NJ. He is survived by his loving wife, Theresa Siekierski his stepchildren Celia Binns (Michael Lemon), Thomas (Vicki) Cioffi, Ramona (Joseph) Dann, Kathleen Cioffi, 2 step grandsons Alexander and Aidan Dann and 2 step granddaughters Maria (John) Pedone, Anita Fuentes, and 2 step great grandchildren Reina and Kyle Prince.

Michael was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars NJ Post #03117 in Edison, NJ, American Legion Post 0372 in Mt. Laurel. He worked for over 30 years for Johns Manville.  He retired from Rutgers University 1993 where he worked for 6 years as Chief Stock Clerk. Upon retirement he went into crafts for 12 years with his wife Midred and daughter Joan. During his retirement he also traveled to London and Rome.

Relatives and friends are invited to his graveside service on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 12:30 P.M. in the Chapel at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Cemetery 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562. We will gather at approximately 11;00A.M. at the Alloway Funeral Home to go in procession to the cemetery.
