Norman Jack Longfellow , 91, of The Villages, FL, died at Cornerstone Hospice after a brief illness on August 16, 2023.

Norm is survived by his son Norman and daughter Karen (Glen), 5 Grandchildren (Norman, Caroline, James, Matthew and David) and 2 great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his loving wife Anna (Froelich).

Norm was born and raised in Camden NJ, attending Woodrow Wilson High School, graduating in 1950 where he served as the senior class president. He was the last child born into a family of 14 children.

He was drafted into the Army in January 1954 and served 2 years in Japan while supporting the efforts of the Korean War. He was discharged in December 1955.

Following his service time, he attended Temple University in Philadelphia and studied electronics.

After several jobs installing and repairing sound and telephone systems, he was hired by AT&T in 1968. His work was in Government and Interstate communications. While at AT&T he established the Garden State Council of the Telephone Pioneers and served as president. He later established a Retirees Garden State Council. He retired in 1990 and moved to Ft Myers Fl with his wife Anna. He resided there until 2010, where he moved to Hernando FL.  In 2023, he moved to the Villages Florida at Watercrest Independent living.

Norm wants you to know he loved to travel, first by travel trailer all around the US and Canada and later cruised 11 times and traveled to Hawaii five times.

Norm was a prolific reader, having logged more than 2300 books over the many years he enjoyed retirement.

Burial will take place in Locustwood Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of Flowers, donations can be made to Cornerstone Hospice at 601 Mariposa Way, The Villages Fl, 32162
