Novelette Mae-Eleane Wilson, daughter of the late Lloyd Noel Thompson and Muriel Sylvanda Colquhoun, began her earthly journey on April 14, 1950 in the Arcadia district of St. Thomas, Jamaica. Novelette, affectionately known to friends and family as "Joy", lived her life in the service of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She went to be with Him on November 5, 2018.

Novelette received her primary education in Port Morant, but later moved to Kingston to complete her secondary education.   After passing her common entrance exams, she attended and graduated from Excelsior High School in Kingston, Jamaica.    On October 19, 1974, Joy married her childhood friend, Ralston C. Wilson. From this union came three children, two girls and a boy.

Although she held several roles and titles in her life, from Data Processor to Certified Nursing Assistant, the titles she held dearest to her heart were, Sunday School Teacher, Prayer Warrior, Worshipper, and Soul Winner. Novelette's greatest joy came from doing the work of God and being His witness. That was usually done with a song both on her lips, and in her heart. Novelette loved music, and she loved her family. Her greatest thrill was spending time with her grandchildren.

Joy leaves behind Ralston Wilson, her husband of 44 years. She also leaves behind her children Sean Wilson (Tamara), Rochelle DeGonia (Chris), and Tiffany Wilson. Also cherishing her memory, are her grandchildren; Ian DeGonia, Camille DeGonia, Zachariah DeGonia, Immanuel Wilson, and Gabriel Wilson.

As a sister, Joy leaves behind her sisters; Valerie Lawrence (Winston), Yvonne Archat (Stanley), Maxine Delva (Darly), Sharon Colquhoun, Ivolyn Thompson-Prescod (Donovan), and Dorette Thompson. She leaves behind her brothers; Carl Spence (Enid), Richard Thompson (Merlin), Everton Thompson, and Colin Colquhoun (Diane). She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, whose lives she has impacted both here and eternally. If she could, she would say, "The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away. Blessed be the name of the Lord."

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Thursday morning from 9:00-11:00 AM in Christ Apostolic Temple 7 East Maple Avenue Merchantville, NJ. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM in church. Interment will follow in Arlington Cemetery Pennsauken, NJ.
