PATRICIA B. LEAFTY

July 29, 1939 – April 8, 2026

Patricia Beery Leafty died peacefully at home on April 8, 2026. Patricia was born on July 29, 1939.  She grew up in Merchantville, NJ with her parents George and Rosanna (Garner) Beery and sister Margaret (Ron) Mentzer who passed in January 2026.  She is survived by her husband, Howard William Leafty whom she met in high school and married on May 25, 1957. They have three children, Marcia (Steven) Smith of Medford, NJ; Lynda (Todd) Hillpot of Cinnaminson, NJ and David Leafty of Orlando, FL (currently residing in Southampton, NJ).

Patricia stayed home to care for her young family before joining Tupperware in Moorestown, NJ for about 15 years while living in Willingboro, NJ and then moving to Medford Lakes, NJ in 1973. She later returned to school and obtained her LPN in 1983 and worked at Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton and later as a hospice nurse. Patricia and Howard retired in 1990 and moved to Florida where they enjoyed fishing, cruising and various card clubs. They returned to New Jersey in 2014 and have been living in the Leisuretowne development of Southampton, NJ. Patricia enjoyed being with her family and various Leisuretowne clubs including crafts, playing cards and a monthly lunch club.

In addition to her husband and children, she is survived by three granddaughters; Megan (Luke) Baerman of Shamong, NJ, Jenna Lynn (Brian) Riley of Medford, NJ and Michelle (Michael) Haberle of Palmyra, NJ; and three great-grandsons: Liam Riley, Kellan Riley and Luka Haberle.
