Phyllis Alberta Anderson-Jones the daughter of the late William and Phyllis Anderson departed this life on January 23, 2024, peacefully at home at the age of 75 years old.  Phyllis received the Lord at the early age of 10 years old under the Dr. Rev. J. W. Harris, on October 8,1958, at the Mount Calvary Baptist Church. Phyllis began singing on the Children's Choir, and later after Phyllis renewed her fellowship, she joined the Gospel Choir, became Choir Chaplain, Senior Usher Board, Head Usher, Usher Union, Welcomed Visitors and MC for the Gospel Choir and Senior Usher Board.  later, after renewing her fellowship under Rev. James C. Jones, she attended Bible study on Tuesday at 11:00 AM, and if needed, filled in for Minister Daisy Scott and attended Noon Day Prayer Services on Wednesday afternoon Prayers Services and one Thursday a month filled in for Minister daisy Scott at the Sr Missionary Spiritual Reading.

Phyllis was educated in the Camden Public school System.  Phyllis married the late Tyrone D. Barringer Sr. and one daughter Earlene P.  Drummond of Philadelphia Pa and one son Tyrone D. Barringer Jr of Camden NJ.  Phyllis was employed 1968-1979 in different Dry cleaner Businesses. Starting as a counter girl and working her way up to formal wear presser and cleaned offices at night.  Phyllis then married the late Charles L. Jones, Sr., and one son was born, Charles R. Jones Jr.  Phyllis was employed by the Camden City Board of education from 1977-1979, where she worked at Hatch Middle School, as a Title One School Coordinator for Math and Reading Classes. Phyllis was a homemaker from 1979-1983, then later went on to Gloucester Adult high School, earning her diploma in Associate Business Careers.  From 1983-1999, Phyllis was employed by Cooper Hospital Security Department, and worked her way from Officer to Sargent and Acting Assistant Director.  From 1999-2014, Phyllis was employed by New Jersey Transit as a seasonal Ticket Agent, Part Time Bus Operator, and then Full-Time Field Salary until she became sick from 2013-2014 and retired September 6, 2014.

Her family left to mourn: one daughter Earlene P. Drummond of Philadelphia, PA, 2 sons Tyrone D. Barringer Jr., of Camden, NJ and Charles R. Jones Jr. of Burlington, NJ, 8 grandchildren: Jonathan Barringer, Charles R. Jones III (Jone') Jazmyne Jones, Tyree Smith Barringer, Isaiah Barringer, Alexyss Jones, Jadon Jones, and Jordan.   1 Great grandson Jalil Barringer and 1 Great granddaughter Luciana Hernandez-Barringer, 1 Brother Louis b. Robinson,1 sister-in-law Mary Games-Robinson, 3 nieces, Venus Robinson, Audra Robinson-reed, and Tristeel Moriani, 2 nephews Glen Ford and Louis Robinson. 2 Stepsons, the late Nathanial C. Jones, Sr. and the late Richard C. Jones, 5 step grandsons Nathanial C. Jones Jr., (Shirley), Ryan Jones, Brandon Jones Taylor, R.J. Jones and Justin Jones 2 step grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.  God Bless and may he keep each one of you, thank you so very much for sharing the gift God gave you with me, with special thanks to Deacon Karl Medley, Thank you for your voice and singing with me.

Relatives and friends are invited to Phyllis's Viewing Saturday February 3, 2024, beginning at 9:00 AM- 11:00 AM at the Mount Calvary Baptist Church 1196 Penn Street Camden NJ.  Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 AM.  Entombment begins at 2:15 PM in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.  There will be a private viewing Friday evening for those who will not be able to attend Sat's service in the Alloway Funeral Home 315 E. Maple Avenue, Merchantville, NJ 08109, beginning at 6:00PM - 8:00PM.
