Richard (Dick) Frank Hamilton, of Moorestown, passed away on
May 1, 2020 at the age of 83 due to complications of Covid-19.

Richard's life began on September 5, 1936, in Paterson, NJ.  He was born to the late Richard and Claire Hamilton.  Raised in Paterson, he attended Paterson Central High School and graduated in 1954.   While earning his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering at Purdue University, he married his high school classmate, Marilyn Grundy.

Richard received his bachelor's along with the news of the birth of his first daughter, Debra Lynn, in 1958.  Richard moved to South Jersey with his young family and began a career as an engineer for RCA in Moorestown.  Throughout his employment there, Richard was able to travel the world . . . Africa, South America and almost every U.S. state.

Richard and Marilyn quickly met couples as Richard's career began and many lifelong friendships were formed.  He enjoyed discussing politics and became involved with the Barry Goldwater presidential campaign.  The Republican Club, Rotary Club and the Moorestown Tree Committee were just a few ways Richard was active in his community.

In 1965, Richard and Marilyn welcomed their second daughter, Mary Louise.  With the new addition to the family and a master's degree from Drexel University, the family of four would move into their permanent home on Eastbourne Terrace in Moorestown.  In 1971, Richard changed career paths and entered the insurance field.  He eventually founded Casualty Management Systems, Inc. in Philadelphia and had a successful business career.

Throughout his adult life, Richard greatly enjoyed fishing and hunting locally and in North Dakota.  Upon selling his business, he became risk manager for Metrologic Instruments in Blackwood.  Once retired, Richard's love of hunting continued, and he enjoyed maintaining his yard.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn, of 62 years, his daughter, Debbie, of Vineland, NJ and daughter, Mary Smith, and son-in-law, Phil Smith, of Mount Laurel.  He is also survived by his five grandsons, Philip, Timothy, Aidan, Richard and Benjamin as well as his two great-grandsons, Jude and Emerson.

Richard was predeceased by his sister, Joyce Curving.  He is survived by his brother, Bruce, of Prescott, Arizona and sister, Claire Wax, of Port St. Lucy, Florida as well as his brother-in-law, Al Curving of Flemington, NJ.  He had four nieces and three nephews.
