With deep love and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Salvatore Joseph DiBartolo, on October 26, 2026 at the age of 71.
Sal as he was lovingly known, was a devoted father, grandfather and friend. He is survived by his children, Christopher, Jamie, and Nicholas and his grandchildren, Desmond and Caroline.
Sal was born in Philadephia, Pennsylvania and grew up in Collingswood, NJ. He later made his home in Pennsauken, New Jersey, where he built a life with our mom Terri rooted in family, honesty and hard work.
Sal will be remembered for his steady heart, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to his family. His friendships meant so much to him. He had a close circle of lifelong friends and he treasured the people who shared in his life, his stories, and his many memories. He showed his love not only by being there for every milestone and holiday, but in the everyday moments that meant just as much. From phone calls and text messages to home renovations and simply dropping by to visit, he always made sure he showed up. He never said goodbye in person or hung up the phone without saying, “I love you”.
Beyond his love for his family, Sal had a passion for life’s simple pleasures. He loved his Mustang, the outdoors, Mart Pretzels, a good roast pork sandwich, live music, kayaking and the beach. Some of his happiest moments were spent playing with his grandkids in the backyard. There was always good music playing in his house, and before long everyone would find themselves dancing in the kitchen. Those are the moments and memories that will stay with us forever.
Sal was known for having quite the sweet tooth. He treasured his daily indulgence of coffee and chocolate. He also had a special place in his heart for animals and was passionate about every dog he rescued throughout his life.
Sal missed his parents dearly, and we find comfort in knowing that he is now resting peacefully, reunited with them in heaven.
The love he gave so freely, the values he lived by, and the memories he created will live on through his children and grandchildren. His example of showing up for the people he loved, working hard, and finding joy in life’s simple moments will remain with us always.
He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always celebrated.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing, Tuesday, November 3rd 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM in the Alloway Funeral Home 315 East Maple Avenue, Merchantville, NJ 08109. Funeral service will begin 11:30 AM. Entombment to follow at New Saint Mary's Cemetery 515 Browning Road, Bellmawr, NJ 08031
