In Loving Memory of Samuel Daguanno , age 83 years of Blackwood, NJ. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Samuel Joseph (Leone) Daguanno, a beloved grandfather and proud U.S. Airforce Veteran. After a long illness, Sam passed away peacefully on September 26, 2024.
Sam was a proud father of Dion C Daguanno (predeceased), doting grandfather to Dion J Daguanno (Lauren), and great-grandchildren, Henry and Charlie, who were the light of his life. He was a beloved family member to Mary Belko and Jim, Kristin, and Kimberly Haase. Sam loved and devoted much of his later years to Mary Ann Weglarz, her son Michael Weglarz, and his children Shaye and Colton.
He was predeceased by his brother Julius Daguanno.
Sam liked to tell happy stories about his childhood in Port Arthur, Texas with his brother, grandmother, Aunt Fini, Uncle Phillip, and cousins, Phillip and Pete. He was proud of his Sicilian heritage. Not much lived up to his Aunt Fini's Italian and
Southern cooking.
At 18, Sam joined the Airforce and proudly served two terms as a jet engine mechanic. His military career took him to various parts of the world, including tours in Guam and Alaska. After the military, he lived in many states of the US including Michigan, Louisiana, New Jersey, Virginia, and Arkansas. New Jersey eventually became his home.
Sam easily made friends wherever he went. He loved to golf and was an excellent bowler, as well as a passionate Philadelphia sports fan. Sam will be remembered for his beautiful blue eyes, jolly laugh, generous spirit, and positivity.  His legacy of love and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
His Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 10:30 AM at Harleigh Cemetery 1640 Haddon Avenue, Camden, NJ 08103. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Wounded Warrior Project or St Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Sam's
honor.
