Born in Augsburg, Germany on September 7, 1952, Stanley came to the United States at the age of 18. To friends and family he was also affectionately known as "Stan" or "Stone". He met his wife Lois (Hellmig) and married in 1973, celebrating their 47th wedding anniversary on November 9, 2020. They raised their children; Rachael, Shaun and Nicholas, along with his grandson Xander, in Pennsauken, NJ. Opa taught Xander everything a father would, from baseball to driving lessons, and made sure he was always well provided for as if he were his own son. He is also the proud Opa of Maison, whom he was immensely proud of his hockey skills and academics.

Stanley is predeceased by his son Shaun in 2011. Before retiring, he worked for Hoeganaes Corporation and was a member of Teamsters 676. Stan never used a sick day, but enjoyed scheduling his vacation days to plan for yearly camping trips with his family. He enjoyed classic rock, camping, fishing and in his earlier days, motorcycling. Stone enjoyed spending Eagles' game days with his sons. Also surviving are: his mother, Irmgard Burbine (Gruber), brothers; Raymond Burbine, Roland Burbine, and sister, Maria Burbine of Augusta, Georgia. Stanley is preceded in death by his dad, U.S. Army SGM Raymond Burbine. He is also survived by his extended family and his puppy Ellie and cat Hazel.
