On January 11, 2017, age 88, of Cherry Hill and Avalon, NJ. He was the beloved son of the late Edna Marie (nee Sauselein) and Stephen J. Tiver, Sr. He was the brother of the late Virginia Lee Furphy and is survived by a niece Linda (Dennis) Cox, and several other nieces and nephews. Steve was a member of one of South Jersey's oldest farming families and a Mayflower descendant . He was a member of Moorestown Council #1082 Knights of Columbus for 70 years and was the Color Corps Commander for John Tatham Assembly 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the Lay Fraternity of St. Dominic, Holy Rosary Chapter of Camden, a lifelong member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church Merchantville, a member of the Ushers Society of St. Peter Church, a member of the Footlighters of South Jersey and a US Army Korean War veteran. His hobbies included gardening, traveling, reminiscing about past events, classical music, genealogy, and giving advice. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM and Tuesday morning from 8:30-9:30 AM in the Alloway Funeral Home 315 E. Maple Ave. Merchantville, NJ. His Solemn Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 AM in St. Peter Church Merchantville, NJ. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery Moorestown, NJ.
